The overarching concept embodies the fusion of traditional Chinese artistic elements with the international scope of the festival. The limited colour palette is used strategically to convey a sense of elegance, cultural exchange, and the celebration of music as a universal language. The design will attract the target audience and communicate the festival's commitment to promoting cross-cultural understanding through the universal language of music.
Inspiration:
Chinese Painting: Embrace the aesthetics of traditional Chinese painting with a focus on brush strokes, ink wash, and the harmony found in nature. Capture the essence of landscapes and cultural symbolism often seen in classical Chinese art, using the limited color palette effectively.
Chinese Music Instruments: Draw inspiration from the shapes, lines, and details of Chinese music instruments, such as the guqin zither, dizi and xiao flutes, erhu fiddle, pipa lute, and guzheng zither. Incorporate these instrument forms in a way that feels harmonious within the red, grey, white, and black color scheme.
Color Palette:
A sophisticated and balanced color palette:
Red: Representing energy, passion, and the vibrant cultural aspects of the festival.
Grey and White: Conveying a sense of elegance, neutrality, and balance.
Black: Adding depth and sophistication to the overall design.
Typography:
Opt for a balanced and elegant typeface that complements the traditional elements of Chinese culture. We used a mix of English and Chinese typography, ensuring readability and cultural authenticity.
Logo:
Design a unique and memorable logo that incorporates elements of Chinese musical instruments and calligraphy. The logo should harmonize with the limited color palette and serve as the visual centerpiece of the festival's identity.
Poster Design:
Create a visually striking poster that showcases the featured musicians, scholars, and the collaborative spirit of the festival. Utilise the red, grey, white, and black color schemes effectively to achieve a visually appealing and balanced composition.
Additional Graphic Material:
Extend the design language to other materials, such as banners, flyers, and social media assets, maintaining a consistent visual identity across all platforms.
